Footnote on Morris

If it is true that Sherry Rowlands is 42 years old, does the designation "call girl" still apply, one wonders? Call matron might be more appropriate, while call person would help remove hints of sexism. In any event, given the traditional age range in her chosen field, Mrs. Rowlands could well have been - professionally speaking - on her last leg. Or shall we say, foot?!

But of lasting significance in the story of Dick Morris's departure is the revelation that he neither had any kind of security clearance nor a permanent White House pass. The latter confirms that the President's chief advisor had not been subjected even to a routine FBI background check. Any doubts with regard to the veracity of Gary Aldrich's best-selling book, Unlimited Access, should now be laid to rest.

The question is not whether Mr. Morris closed his eyes and ears every time he would come across some matter of national security. A person of higher standards and greater discipline might find the temptation too much. No - the question is whether on November 5th the American electorate will close its eyes and ears to the kind of team which currently occupies the nation's Executive Mansion.
